Scenes from The Sound of Music were filmed on site, and the Salzburg Festival was founded there. The property is divided in 2 buildings, the Meierhof and the Palace The 55 rooms in the Meierhof Building and the 12 Suites which are located in the palace, feature satellite TV and a bathroom.
